History
A history of quality, on a human and craft level.
For more than 180 years, in the genuine tradition of quality, six generations of the Moyard family have kept alive, in Morges, the expertise of great craftsmen.
1821
Pierre Moyard and his wife Henriette set up home in the shadow of the castle of Morges. Their children are Jules, who was to start work as cabinet-maker in 1827, Jeanne, who was to become a decorator, and Louise-Henriette.
3 February 1848
Louise-Henriette has a son, Jean-Henri. His Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Jules teach him the secrets of their craft.
1908
His son Henri takes over the family business, after having attended specialist schools in Paris and worked for three years in the best workshops in the city.
1930
Henri Moyard crowns his efforts by buying the building which in the 18th century was the Hostellerie des Trois-Rois, at number 83 of the Grand'Rue.
1945
His children, Edmée Winkler-Moyard and Nelly Guignard-Moyard, take over the business, aided by their husbands Fritz and David, master upholsterer and decorator and cabinet-maker respectively.
1964
After finishing his studies and training, Jean Winkler joins the firm which becomes a limited company in 1969.
2004
Mathieu Winkler, representing the seventh generation, joins the family business after studying economics and gaining a diploma in interior design.
Aujourd'hui
In the centre of Morges three 18th-century buildings are dedicated to the art of living. The workshops where the Moyard craftsmen – upholsterers, cabinet-makers, polishers, decorators and quilters – create beautiful pieces are now located in Rue de Lausanne.
